The thick afternoon fog provided a far from silent boat tour for our family of 3 adults and 2 elementery age children. The tour started directly below the Convention Center and took us beside the USS Alabama. We saw and the personable captain and his assistant provided stories and facts of the various working machines in the port of Mobile. They talked about the Austal shipyard where the two types LCS were being built to ensure our shorelines future safety and moved on to why the battleship such as the Alabama is now obsolete. We viewed containers ships unloading and the last view was the area of shoreline necessary to support one leg of the new suspension bridge over the bay. This tour was so worth our time and a very good value for the money. The boat has a cover and seats with the ability to enclose the sides with plastic see through curtains. Would certainly recommend for all ages.
