About WildNative

In 2004, Australian born founder Kristian Aboud discovered the Mobile-Tensaw Delta in Alabama and fell in love with the the serenity and mystical draw the delta holds to all who spend time with her. He had been searching the world for an untouched wilderness to launch an adventure tour business for a decade and the Delta answered the call.

After Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast in 2005, looking to create a new opportunity since the wine company he managed was shuttered by the storm, Kristian launched WildNative to be a tourism and destination management company. Initially flying helicopters over the Mississippi Coastline, he quickly saw both the devastation and the areas that were seemingly protected by the lush vegetation located throughout the Gulf Coast.

By 2007 the opening of Five Rivers Delta Safaris offered WildNative its first permanent tour based management opportunity, located at Alabama State Lands newly built Five Rivers Delta Resource Center on the Battleship Causeway. Delta Safaris as it has become known, initially offered a daily delta eco-tour starting with one 23 passenger pontoon vessel. Six years later, Delta Safaris is proud to have brought the delta into the hearts and minds of nearly 100,000 guests, creating lasting memories for locals and international travelers alike, with a wide range of interesting and educational boat, canoe and kayak eco tours.
