Middle Bay Lighthouse is an active hexagonal-shaped cottage style screw-pile lighthouse located offshore from Mobile, Alabama, in the center of Mobile Bay. The light was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, and makes for stunning photographs. Explore the Eastern half of Mobile Bay or the Port of Mobile on your way to visit the historic Middle Bay Lighthouse.

Mobile Bay and the surrounding areas have an exciting history starting from Native American settlement in 1200 AD, to the influx of European Settlers, major Civil War battles, World War II and beyond. The Port of Mobile has been one of America’s longest standing trading port, and continues to bustle with activity today.

Departing the Grand Hotel Marina, Point Clear, sprinkled amongst our commentary, guests are likely to see a wide range of shipping, from Shrimp boats to container ships, as well as a variety of bird and fish life, including occasional dolphins and even Manatees during the summer months.All commentary provided by experienced, courteous and knowledgeable guides.

Departs From: Grand Hotel Marina, Point Clear, Alabama (or alternative – please contact our office to organize alternative departure locations (downtown Mobile). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure time.

Our private charter routes and tours are fully customized to fit the needs and wishes of each group or organization visiting Middle Bay Lighthouse. This includes departure dates and times. We can also coordinate a variety of food and beverage packages to round out your event.

The “Osprey” tour boat can accommodate up to 42 people and is well equipped to handle groups of all kinds and all ages. She is handicap accessible and comfortably appointed with cushioned seats, full cover, full restroom, fully enclosed (seasonal) and a stereo system with PA.

NOTE: Maximum capacity of the boat is 42 persons. For maximum comfort, the ideal capacity is 26 persons in Mobile Bay and up to 36 adults for sheltered party cruises with food, beverages, coolers, etc.

Other Charter destinations include, but are not limited to: Lower Mobile-Tensaw Delta, Middle Mobile-Tensaw Delta, Battleship USS Alabama, Downtown / Port of Mobile and Upper Mobile Bay.

What to Bring: Friends, family, drinks & snacks, comfortable clothing, cameras and binoculars. Packed food and drink is welcome onboard – no glass containers please.

PARKING At Point Clear: There is ample parking at the Grand Marina, Point Clear.

PARKING in Downtown Mobile: There is no designated parking lot for Cooper Riverside Park, however, there are many parking options in downtown Mobile. The nearest lot is located at 11 Government St – it is FREE. The next closest is the Arthur Outlaw Convention Center (1 S. Water Street), which is free with this confirmation email (when attendant is present) or $1 cash when no attendant is present (be aware that trains will sometimes block entrance to this lot while redirecting into the Port). There is also on street parking, along with numerous hotel and private parking garages.

Also, there are train tracks that run along the Mobile River. These trains often stop to redirect into the local rail yard. Stopped trains will block the walkway to Cooper Park (and the parking at the Convention Center). There are stairs at the Convention Center near the corner of Water Street and Government Blvd. These stairs will lead you up and over the train.

Policies & Disclaimers

Public Tour Cancellation Policy:
For reservations cancelled 3 or more calendar days in advance, there will be no cancellation fee.
Cancellations 2 calendar days in advance will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
Cancellations within 1 calendar day of event will be charged a 100% cancellation fee.

If tour is cancelled by tour operator due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or refund. Guests will be notified in the event of a weather related cancellation. Due to rapidly changing weather along the Gulf Coast, most weather related cancellations will not be made until day of event.

All tours depart at scheduled departure time. Boats and tours will not be held due to late arrivals. No reschedules or refunds will be issued for late arrivals.

Private Charter Cancellation Policy:
For tours cancelled at least 7 calendar days in advance, there is no cancellation fee.
If you cancel between 3 and 6 days in advance, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
If you cancel within 2 calendar days in advance, you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee.
If tour is canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
