This voluntour offered by WildNative Tours was first made famous when it aired in an episode of the American Reality show “Kate Plus 8.” However, long before the show aired, many visitors to our area have chosen to give a little back in a unique way. Community service is one great way to help out a local population, encourage more visitors to an area, and provide relief to the fauna and flora that surrounds a geographic region. WildNative Tours Kayak Kleanup combines the best tenets of voluntourism, with a little bit of exercise and fresh air, as we help clean up some of our region’s most trash affected waterways.
Perfect for University and High School students, tourists looking for a voluntour opportunity, Community and Church Groups, corporate departments, business groups, and any others who wish to make the world just a little better, while also learning about important aspects of our eco-system. Be aware though, this is not a tour for the germ-o-phobe. We will endeavor to trek deep into parts of our region that are in desperate need of support, to alleviate the stress placed on the water systems before they can no longer sustain life. That being said, our Hero’s will be safely tucked away in their kayaks or canoes, armed with rubber gloves and trash bags and hopefully returning having “left a trace!” To these brave souls – WildNative Tours salute you!
Of course, along the way we’ll see some great wildlife and chat about them too, as well as experiencing first hand how mishandled trash can drastically affect our natural surroundings. It’s a great and enjoyable way to help clean up our environment.
Led by experienced Nature Guides.
